2. Positano

My favourite of all the towns in Amalfi Coast, Positano is picture perfect at every turn. It has pastel coloured buildings in a mix of peach, terracotta and pink on the cliff side cascading down on a sun-bleached beach. There are also lots of steep narrow streets lined with boutiques and upscale cafes. This is a must stop to take in all of the scenic and culinary delights of the area!

3. Sorrento

As the first stop at the harbour for many travellers to Amalfi Coast, Sorrento is known as the gateway to Amalfi Coast. Given its active nightlife and flow of tourists, Sorrento is also a great place for restaurants and evening outings. There is a lack of a proper beach, but you won’t be disappointed with the sweeping water views to Naples and Mount Vesuvius.

4. Amalfi

In the little town of Amalfi, named after the famous coastline of Amalfi Coast, you can easily walk from one end to another in 30-40 minutes. Not the most picturesque of all the towns, the sun-filled piazzas and small beach is still worth a visit, and one of the key places to visit is up the steep hills for a bird’s-eye view of the Amalfi Coast below.

5. Capri

For luxury travellers, Capri is one of the most favourite islands in the Amalfi Coast. This island, based in the Bays of Naples in Amalfi Coast, is filled with luxury accommodation options and is famous for its Blue Grotto, a beautiful dark cavern where the sea glows in a electric blue hue. You’ll just have to see for yourself.

6. Procida

Interested in something off the beaten path in Amalfi Coast? The Procida is the ideal town to visit while you are here. Not as well known as Capri and Positano, visitors here can expect a local experience away from the crowds, with the similar charming beauty you expect in much more popular towns in the coast area. Just look at these beautiful pastel colours!

7. Ravello

Overlooking the Bay of Salerno, the dramatic views from the top of a mountain buttress will show you the slower pace of life that still existing in this Amalfi Coast town today. It has beautiful gardens, quiet lanes and signs of faded grandeur that exists in many coastal towns of Italy. With 350 meters above the coast, this is another less well-know towns to get away from the masses.
